Gas & green gas

In Norway, we hold an interest in the Snøhvit field, located in the Barents Sea. The gas produced is transported to the Snøhvit LNG liquefaction plant, which supplies us with liquefied natural gas under a purchase agreement.

Oil and biofuels

In Norway, we hold interests in several production licenses on the Norwegian continental shelf, which are divided into four major hubs. They cover Johan Sverdrup, which is one of the area's largest oil fields.

We also hold interests in several exploration licenses.

Lastly, our research center in Stavanger is especially focused on CO2 capture and storage, as well as solutions for reducing carbon emissions.

Less carbon

Carbon capture and storage

In Norway, we are working alongside our partners in developing a CO2 storage project. The first phase, which is expected in 2024, aims to achieve a capacity of approximately 1.5 million tons a year. It has the potential to be the first storage site in the world to receive CO2 from industrial sources in several countries.
