Angola, Cameroon, Ivory Coast, Ethiopia, Ghana, Libya, Madagascar, Mali, Mauritania, Mozambique, Niger, Uganda, Republic of Congo, Democratic Republic of Congo, Senegal and Sudan and Algeria competed for the trophy. After 3 weeks of competition... and suspense, it is Senegal who won the tournament for the first time in its history. It was opposed to Algeria. See you in 2024 for the next edition.

What is CHAN TotalEnergies Algeria 2022?

The African Nations Championship is a biennial competition between African teams made up exclusively of players who compete in their national league.

It was held for the first time in Côte d’Ivoire in 2009, and rapidly became a major event for African football fans.

For CHAN TotalEnergies Algeria 2022, the event was extended, with the teams now playing in five groups. Those qualifying will go into the knock-out stage, starting with the quarter-final, and ending with the handing of the trophy to the winning team.

As the headline sponsor*, the Company wanted to celebrate Africans’ passion for football at this major event and invited football fans to take part in the Fun zone in the stadiums, and point of sale events, and to follow the competition on the Football Together digital ecosystem.
