Climate change and energy security are some of the biggest challenges of our times. This requires big solutions.

One of them is on its way - in the middle of the North Sea - 225 kilometers west of Esbjerg (Denmark).

Since 2013, engineers from all over the world have been working on the redevelopment of Denmark's new high-tech hub for natural gas production. It's called Tyra II, and when it opens in the winter season 2023/2024, it will reduce emissions from its natural gas production by 30 percent.

But why even work with natural gas at a time when we are all looking for other solutions? At TotalEnergies, we have initiated extensive investments in renewable energy projects. The ambition is to reach carbon neutrality by 2050. That's the future.

This requires that we also take responsibility for our existing production. The world's population will use oil and natural gas for many years to come. We need natural gas to ensure that renewable solutions can be expanded.

Tyra II is a technological and engineering achievement in a class of its own. With a total weight of more than 35,000 tons and a height of up to 47 meters.

From Esbjerg, we manage the construction of Tyra II together with some of the world's most talented specialists and more than 70 local companies in the offshore sector.

We are taking Danish natural gas to new heights. Not only in terms of engineering, but also in terms of climate.
