VivaTech as if you were there!
Hello everyone. I'm Marie-Gabrielle, and this is Caroline.
Hello.
Today we're at VivaTech! Europe's largest trade show for startups and innovation. TotalEnergies has a magnificent 300 sq.m stand inside. It's going to be great! Want to come? We’re off!
Here's the TotalEnergies stand, The Lab. What's happening here? A workout! They’re pedaling to raise money for an association… that promotes women in tech.
Behind me is the pitch zone, where all our Minimum Viable Products (MVPs) and startups will make presentations.
What are the stakes for TotalEnergies?
TotalEnergies is transforming into a broad energy company. Digital and new technologies are also transformation drivers.
And we're here to highlight them!
Exactly.
Romain from Tilt, one of the startups at our Station F accelerator, is about to pitch. Good luck!
Tilt is developing energy optimization solutions for prosumers, i.e., consumers with rooftop solar panels. Our automatic system allows them to use their own energy first.
Great! Really exciting! Good for you!
Need some help?
Could you take care of the computer?
No problem.
Let's go!
This is a prime example of what innovation and R&D mean at TotalEnergies: the AUSEA project. Drones, sensors, everything you need!
What is AUSEA?
AUSEA combines a methane and CO2 sensor with a weather station. It gives us data on concentration, wind conditions and GPS coordinates for each measurement, so our algorithms can accurately quantify the amount of methane and CO2. This knowledge is key. We can use it to reduce our methane emissions and contribution to climate change. For now, we're working on methane and CO2, but our R&D roadmap calls for targeting other pollutants as well.
That's great!
I'm a fan for sure.
Back for Day 2!
We're going to see Green Eagle to talk about robots and wind power with its founder, Alejandro.
We believe that eventually every wind turbine is going to be fully automated and will make their own decisions autonomously.
Fascinating. How is that contributing to producing better energy?
In many ways! It can evaluate the weather conditions so wind turbines can stop automatically to prevent damage. And when they evaluate that it is safe to go back to producing, they will do it autonomously as well. They always do what they need to do. We are reducing the cost of maintenance, prolonging the lifespan and we also increase the energy output.
Now we're going to see Valbenne, a Digital Factory MVP focused on biogas and circular economy.
Valbenne is a digital platform designed to simplify the interface between biomass producers and anaerobic digestion units.
Organic waste produces biogas when it decomposes. The goal is to capture the biogas before it goes into the atmosphere. First, we identify the biomass. Second, we put it in a digester. Third, we inject the gas into the network.
Patrick Pouyanné has arrived to visit the stand.
Patrick Pouyanné looked interested in Hydr'Optim. Let's find out more.
So, how did it go with Patrick?
Just fine. It looks like he's sold.
What is Hydr'Optim?
It's a digital solution for managing and optimizing hydrogen networks in refineries. We developed it at the Digital Factory and deployed it in agile mode for the Normandy plaform. It's already generating value: 1 kt of CO2 avoided. The goal is 60 kt at Normandy, and if Patrick gives the green light, deployment at La Mède and, hopefully, all the complexes.
Hello.
Hello!
What's with the frying pan?
Can we ask you a couple of questions?
Go ahead!
Thanks.
Let's go. Right.
You're here at the TotalEnergies stand. What are you the proudest of?
Being here, to start. Our stand is nice. And there are nice people like you. With big smiles. I saw many interesting things, full of creativity and innovation.
Why is it important for TotalEnergies to be at this show devoted to innovation and startups?
Because we are transforming, because innovation is at the core of a project like TotalEnergies. It's very important to show all the stakeholders that we are here and want to work with them.
Thanks very much. Have a nice visit. Goodbye.
That's it! Two days at VivaTech. Time to go. We saw so much in two days. It was amazing! What do you think, Caroline?
We saw so many super exciting projects for TotalEnergies and our future. Digital everywhere. We hope you got a good view of the show with us.
