[TOTAL LAUNCHES ITS DIGITAL FACTORY]

Frédéric Gimenez: The Digital Factory aims to create a space for accelerating digital technology at Total that will bring together all of the digital skills needed for the projects being developed by our different businesses.  

Our stand at the Best Developer in France contest has two objectives: to promote and explain what Total is doing today in digital technology and to reach and attract talent here so that they become part of the Digital Factory in the future.  

There will be two types of resources at the Digital Factory: technical and technological specialists, such as developers, data scientists, responsible for the architecture, cybersecurity, and experts from Total’s métiers.  

The Digital Factory’s challenge is to have access to this talent. It will be a different type of place, a dedicated building with a much more open-plan layout that can be easily rearranged to encourage creativity and innovation.

Marina Kobayashi: We often need IT, digital and development skills to build the tools that we provide to our refinery clients. The Digital Factory could bring us together with the skill sets we lack. That would help us deliver tools more quickly and raise the bar in terms of quality, speed and agility.

Michel Lutz: Total’s a pretty fantastic place for a developer. There are all types of situations at Total: very specific data, big data. We use this data to address real issues encountered in our work that will have an impact on the future and on society. So that makes it particularly attractive.  

Frédéric Gimenez: If I had to sum up the Digital Factory in three words, I’d say: acceleration, transformation and enthusiasm.
