World Day for Safety: Rallying our Teams and Partner Companies to Engage with Safety

Feature

Every year in April, the International Labour Organization (ILO) commemorates the World Day for Safety and Health at Work. This event gives TotalEnergies an opportunity to remind people of the importance of Safety. A different theme is chosen every year, so that we can exchange ideas with our employees and partner companies and work together towards our safety and health objectives.

World Safety Day: a look back at the themes covered

No Safety without Critical Barriers: each action counts!

Following on from the 2023 and 2024 editions, TotalEnergies is raising awareness of technological risks among its employees and partner companies, focusing this year on the theme of critical barriers and downgraded situations. Guaranteeing the reliability and availability of critical barriers can prevent or limit a major accident. Each action counts: knowing, inspecting and maintaining these barriers throughout the lifecycle of facilities, but also knowing how to react in the event of failure and how to report downgraded situations properly.

Learning lessons from our experiences to improve safety

In 2024, TotalEnergies celebrated its 100 years in business: a century of addressing challenges and pushing the boundaries of technology, as well as improving safety in the workplace and at our facilities. The Company learns from its own major accidents as well as those occurring in industry. It draws lessons from these accidents and has set up an event and feedback management process to make its operations even safer.
