The most difficult thing offshore, is that we are enclosed here for 28 days, we work with the same people for 28 days, and we have almost always the same clients.

So satisfying these clients is more difficult than a client who goes to a hotel for two or three days.

My name is Luis Guimarães, I am 42 years old, and I have been the camp boss of CLOV for three months now.

A camp boss is like a hotel director. We handle 18 thousand meals a month, two thousand kilos of laundry, and three hundred rooms.

CLOV is big, so we have to be permanently circulating to control the work of the staff.

We choose the menu, between the camp boss and the chief cook. We have a meeting, a little meeting every Thursday and we decide all the menus for the week.

I have been working for Total for five years now. It is a very strict client, so it makes us improve and makes us better every day.

Living in CLOV for 28 days and having the family in Portugal is difficult. We have to have a stable life onshore and a good balance between family and work.

When I am at home, I am 100 % with my family, all the time with them. That’s the advantage of doing 28 days in a row.
