TOTAL eWallet launched in Europe

03/01/2018

TOTAL eWallet is a 100% digital and connected solution to enable customers to fill up and pay for their purchases through their mobile in just a few clicks. It will soon be deployed within the Total Network in Germany and Belgium, before it is rolled out throughout Europe. This innovation has been developed in collaboration with Worldline, European leader in the payments and transaction service sector. It was specifically developed for Total service station customers, whether professional or private, creating a fully connected service station whilst simplifying the customer experience. Thank to this new functionality included in the Total Services app., customers will be able to select the right fuel, help themselves and fill up automatically and securely. They will also be able to pay in the shop and in car washes, choosing their payment method: TOTAL card, bank card, and later on third-party wallets such as Apple Pay. Ultimately, it will include recharging for electric vehicles.

“Simplifying the customer experience is at the heart of our efforts. This service is at the same time innovative, secure, and dynamic, and we aim for it to be available throughout our European network of service stations, both at the pump and in the shop. We thereby strive to make the purchasing experience simpler, more secure and convenient. The eWallet constitutes a major milestone in our strategic aim to become an indispensable mobility service provider,” underlines Antoine Tournand, Vice President, Retail and Cards at M&S.

A pilot scheme launched in Berlin in October 2017 was able to demonstrate the pertinence of this solution, before it was decided to roll it out in phases across Europe, starting with Germany and Belgium.
