Today, we are here at our research campus where we develop sustainable energy technology.

We embarked into the transformation of the company in 2021 to become TotalEnergies. Part of it is to grow in electricity and renewables. We have already put in our portfolio our first target, which was 35 GW by 2025. Now, we are in the delivery mode. By the end of this year we’ll have 16 GW. And we are accelerating with more or less 6 to 8 GW per year. So it’s a great ambition. Offshore wind will contribute in a large way, in particular in the second part of this decade, by 2030. It is longer to build, but that's why we are here.

We have a very, very important collaboration here, because a company like TotalEnergies comes with a lot of knowledge, of course, a lot of muscle to be able to implement these things.

It was a natural fit! As we decided to make the transformation, we looked for partnerships in Denmark, with Danish companies, like Vestas, and with academic institutions like DTU. So, I'm very happy that we set this DTEC center for excellence between DTU and TotalEnergies, because it will be an instrument of our transformation in the field of technology.

This is the place where, more than 48 years ago, the first test turbines were put up, where the first knowledge was gained. This is really the place where all the jobs in this sector have their root. What we hope to do it now is to use exactly this site, together with TotalEnergies to investigate how hybrid energy technologies will be able to form a new adventure.
