A Look Back… TotalEnergies at VivaTech 2024

Hello, today we're at VivaTech, Europe's largest start-up and innovation fair.

For the second year running, we're promoting TotalEnergies On, our electricity start-up accelerator. Come and see our start-ups' innovative solutions.

We're in the heart of VivaTech, on the TotalEnergies stand, which is promoting our start-up accelerator: TotalEnergies On.

To find our more, I'm going to meet Thibault Flichy, TotalEnergies On program director.

Hi Thibault. Can you tell us more about this stand?

Welcome to the TotalEnergies stand, promoting TotalEnergies On. This stand was designed around the "electron pathway".

From the production of electrons, wind, solar, batteries... Then the electron trading section. And retail and electric vehicles: electrons in EVs. Behind each part of the value chain are different start-ups.

Why is it important to be here two years in a row?

We believe that to transform the electricity value chain, the start-ups need ongoing support. What TotalEnergies On does is to make our businesses available to the start-ups.

How many start-ups have you supported at TotalEnergies On?

We've taken in 40 start-ups: 10 on the program and 30 in previous cohorts. So far, we've invested in four start-ups. We've got about twenty commercial contracts. In the accelerator's ecosystem, those are big results.

What is your activity in a few words?

We are JUA. We’re creating an AI model which is based on physical laws and can therefore predict the future state of weather.

TotalEnergies has been heavily investing in the past years in their renewable portfolio.

Their renewable portfolio is very volatile and depending on weather.

Therefore, they require a much more accurate weather forecast to be able to balance production and consumption.

Can you briefly tell me what you do?

Optimmo is a solution that optimizes energy retrofits in housing by calculating cost, available financing, energy savings... all optimized.

Joining the TotalEnergies program allowed us to develop our solution on a broad customer base.

We were also able to offer our service to 35,000 of the Company's French employees and to accelerate the energy transition, to make a much bigger impact.

What is your activity in a few words?

We offer electric vehicle smart charging as a service through our elegant app. The app works really simply. If you’re an EV driver, you can connect your car like a Tesla or Volkswagen account to our app.

And the next time you come home, we automatically charge your car at the cheapest hours possible and save you about €200 per year.

How is it important to join TotalEnergies On program?

It’s been fantastic to work with a big innovator in the energy sector like TotalEnergies, to use our technology as smart charging with their actual customers and get great results in countries like France and Spain.

What is your activity in a few words?

Bamboo Energy is a software platform for managing demand flexibility to help the system and to empower the energy consumers.

Why is it important for you to join the TotalEnergies On program?

TotalEnergies On has brought us the opportunity to open new business in new countries.

Also, we have been in contact with experts in our field that have helped us to improve the sales solution. We’re just starting. So, we have a lot of future together.
