A Day with Patrick Pouyanné on CLOV

Patrick Pouyanné, Chief Executive Officer of Total, traveled to Angola for the official inauguration of the CLOV field on December 4, 2014. A look back at a whirlwind trip dedicated to one of Total’s flagship projects, a standard-bearer for Exploration & Production’s strategy.

December 4, 2014, out to sea...

140 kms from the coast, the CLOV teams are gearing up for a symbolic day.

Inauguration Day, after 4 years of construction work worldwide.

The FPSO is in position on Block 17. Production was successfully launched on June 12th 2014. The threshold of 160,000 barrels of oil per day has been reached.

It’s 6 AM and the teams are getting ready to celebrate this special moment.

8 AM... Onshore, a marathon day begins.

After paying a visit to the Chairman of Sonangol, Patrick Pouyanné, CEO of Total, heads off to meet the Total E&P Angola teams.

The staff has gathered at the affiliate’s head office in Luanda, capital of Angola.

It’s an opportunity to underline that CLOV is a model for the Group’s Exploration & Production strategy.

12:30… the day gathers pace.

At Luanda airport, the helicopter to the FPSO is ready for take-off.

Block 17 is one hour’s flying time from the capital.

The CLOV project has also been a success for Angola. For the first time, 10 million man hours have been achieved here, with the integration of a locally built module.

An adventure that is just beginning. CLOV plans to be in operation for 20 years and to produce 500 million barrels of crude.

A story set to continue with Kaombo, the first project of Block 32, launched this year. Production start-up is scheduled for 2017.
