TotalEnergies in the United States

In the United States, we are developing a portfolio of four 2.2 GW solar projects, each featuring battery-based energy storage systems (600 MW) in industrial areas near Houston with high electricity demand.

As part of our joint venture (50%) with 174 Power Global, we are also developing 12 industrial-scale solar power and energy storage projects with a combined capacity of 1.6 GW.

We are also active in the solar energy market via:

• Our affiliate SunPower (51.61%), the North American market leader in distributed solar power generation.
• Our wholly-owned affiliate Saft, an expert in designing and producing high-tech batteries for industry, which has five production sites and a distribution center in the country..

Finally, we are active in the floating offshore wind sector through our joint venture with Simply Blue, TotalEnergies SBE US.

In the area of biotechnology:

• We are involved in a research program with the Joint BioEnergy Institute (JBEI), a cutting-edge synthetic biology research center that develops processes to convert biomass into biofuels.

In the United States, through our Total Gas & Power North America (TGPNA) affiliate, we:

• Trade natural gas, natural gas liquids extracted from the Utica reservoirs, petcoke and sulfur produced by the Port Arthur refinery, and electricity.
• Possess liquefied natural gas (LNG) regasification capacity at the Sabine Pass LNG terminal in Louisiana.
• Have entered into liquefied natural gas (LNG) purchase agreements with Sabine Pass, Cameron LNG and Corpus Christi.
• Hold a 16.6% interest in the Cameron LNG terminal.

We also hold an 18.38% interest in Tellurian Investments Inc., which develops natural gas liquefaction and export projects.

Finally, we are a 50% partner in a joint venture with Clean Energy Fuels Corp. to develop carbon-negative renewable natural gas production facilities in the country

In the United States, in the Gulf of Mexico, we hold interests in the following fields, which are all in production:

• Chinook (33.33%).
• Tahiti (17%).
• Jack (25%).

We also hold interests in the following fields, under exploration:

• North Platte (60%, operator).
• Ballymore (40%).
• Anchor (37.14%).

In the field of shale gas production:

• We operate (100%) the assets in the Barnett Shale Basin in Texas, where we are deploying an innovative technology developed by Qnergy that significantly reduces the methane emissions from our operations.
• We hold a 25% stake in the joint venture that operates the Utica Basin in Ohio.

Following a detailed analysis of the climate positions held by the American Petroleum Institute (API), we decided not to renew our membership for 2021.

Finally, we are leading intense R&D activities in such areas as seismic imaging and reservoir modeling.

We wholly own the Port Arthur refinery in Texas, where we do all our refining in the country. The facility is integrated with a steam cracker in which we have a 40% interest as part of a joint venture with BASF.

As part of our petrochemicals business, we also operate:

• A polypropylene plant in La Porte, Texas.
• Two plants (styrene and polystyrene) in Carville, Louisiana, as part of a joint venture.

We are partners (50%) with Novealis Holdings LLC in a joint venture, Bayport Polymers LLC, which will ultimately include a new ethane cracker at the Port Arthur refinery and a new polyethylene unit to reinforce the existing unit at the Bayport site.

Our wholly-owned affiliate Hutchinson has several plants in the country. Hutchinson is the leader in elastomers processing and specializes in sealing, fluids management, anti-vibration systems, and materials and structures (acoustic and thermal insulation).

Finally, we have a lubricant blending plant in Linden, New Jersey, and a special fluids production plant in Bayport, Texas.

In the United States, we have a 25% interest in Clean Energy Fuels Corp, a leader in supplying the transportation industry with natural gas and renewable natural gas fuel for vehicles in North America.
