The net carbon intensity is calculated by dividing by:

Scope 1 + 2 – Emissions related to the production and processing of energy products used by TotalEnergies customers.

Scope 3 – Emissions related to the use of energy products by the Company's customers.

Carbon sinks – Subtracting the volumes of CO₂ sequestered through CCS and natural carbon sinks.

Selling more energy with less emissions linked to its production and use reduces the carbon intensity indicator.
