Lifecycle carbon intensity of energy products sold
An Indicator to Measure the Carbon Intensity of Energy Products sold.
The net carbon intensity is calculated by dividing by:
- The following numerator:
Scope 1 + 2 – Emissions related to the production and processing of energy products used by TotalEnergies customers.
+
Scope 3 – Emissions related to the use of energy products by the Company's customers.
-
Carbon sinks – Subtracting the volumes of CO2 sequestered through CCS and natural carbon sinks.
- By the following denominator:
Oil & Gas
+
Low-carbon molecules (biofuels, biogas and H2)
+
Electricity
=
Net carbon intensity
Selling more energy with less emissions linked to its production and use reduces the carbon intensity indicator.
