TotalEnergies shares common values and commitments with France 2023 to make this Rugby World Cup 2023 (RWC 2023) an inclusive event with a positive social impact. As such, the Company is proud to be an official partner of the National Neighborhood Tournament 2023 alongside France 2023.
The France 2023 Organizing Committee has confirmed its commitment to young people from working-class neighborhoods in France through the launch of the National Neighborhood Tournament 2023. TotalEnergies, official sponsor of the RWC 2023, has also been announced as the tournament's exclusive official partner.
The tournament is open to 6,000 children aged 8 to 13 across France and uses rugby as an educational and integration tool in working-class neighborhoods.
The National Neighborhood Tournament 2023 takes place in the 10 towns and cities hosting the Rugby World Cup France 2023, and will focus on 4 key moments:
- activities in the heart of the neighborhoods, to introduce children to the game of rugby and its values, as well as activities around the theme of citizenship,
- interactions between the various neighborhoods, to enable interaction and promote rugby and citizenship activities,
- gatherings in each host city and metropolis, between the 10 teams with the most points from rugby and citizenship activities,
- a national final, to be held in the Paris region on the last weekend of the RWC 2023.
To confirm its ambition to leave a legacy and have a positive impact, the France 2023 organizing committee wants these children to be able to continue playing rugby in their neighborhoods after the Rugby World Cup 2023.
