18th International Conference and Exhibition on LNG to Begin in Australia

04/11/2016

LNG 18, the 18th in a series of conferences on liquefied natural gas held every three years, will take place in Perth, Australia from April 12 to 15. With "Redrawing the Global Map of Gas" as its theme, the conference and exhibition will bring together 5,000 LNG professionals from around the world and 250 exhibitors from more than 80 countries. Total will have a high profile at the event with a dedicated booth and an address by CEO Patrick Pouyanné.

Total is a global leader in LNG, benefiting from strong, diversified positions across the value chain. Demand for natural gas is expected to grow by 2% a year between now and 2030, and that for LNG is slated to be two times higher. The Group intends to strengthen its presence in the Asian markets that are driving this demand, as can be seen in recent sales agreements with Pertamina in Indonesia and ENN in China.

In Australia, the LNG 18 host country, Total is involved in two projects: Gladstone LNG (GLNG), which made its first shipment in October 2015, and Ichthys LNG, a complex project that calls for the development of multiple subsea wells and a central processing facility that will be connected to a liquefaction plant in Darwin via a 900 pipeline and a floating production, storage and offloading facility (FPSO) for the condensate. Ichthys is scheduled to come on stream in 2017. Watch the video to find out more:
