Renewables & electricity

We are developing several offshore wind farms in Germany:

We are also developing a 100MW/200MWh battery electricity storage project in Dahlem (North Rhine-Westphalia), scheduled for commercial operation in 2026.

Our affiliate Saft operates several plants in Germany.

Gas & green gas

In Germany, we have been involved in pilot projects for producing green hydrogen since 2011. We are also playing an active role in a number of hydrogen-related research and development projects with academia and research institutes.

With the opening of the LNG import terminal Deutsche Ostsee in 2023, to which the company is contributing a floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU) and supplying LNG, TotalEnergies is one of the country's main LNG suppliers.

Refining & Chemicals

In Germany, we own Leuna, the country's third largest refinery.

We are also shareholders in Polyblend, which specializes in plastics compounding processes and has a plant in the country.

Finally, our affiliate Hutchinson operates several plants in the country supplying the aeronautics, aerospace and automotive industries.

Energy efficiency

In Germany, we also provide energy efficiency consulting activities through our affiliate TENAG, which offers a range of services from carrying out regulatory audits to optimizing energy use, as well as implementing digital and monitoring solutions.

Carbon storage

In Germany, we are examining plans to build an infrastructure with the capacity to collect 5 Mt of CO2 per year with the main manufacturers near our Leuna refinery.

Marketing & Services

In Germany, we supply our business customers with natural gas and electricity, and we offer electric mobility services with charge points installed at their sites. We also retail solutions designed by our affiliates Hutchinson and Saft, as well as specialty, petroleum and petrochemical products.

Lastly, we operate a network of approximately 160 AS24 self-service stations, serving long-haul truckers.

We operate also a network of around 5,000 charging points for electric vehicles.
