We are active in Saudi Arabia though a framework agreement on technical cooperation with the national oil and gas company, Saudi Aramco. We also work alongside this partner in the Oil and Gas Climate Initiative (OGCI), a project promoting collaboration, the sharing of best practices and the oil industry’s commitment to tackle global warming.
 

We are active in Saudi Arabia through our wholly owned affiliate Saft, which markets its solutions in the local public services and oil industry segments. Saft specializes in the design, production and marketing of high-tech batteries and battery cells for industry.

In Saudi Arabia, we are Saudi Aramco’s partner in the Saudi Aramco Total Refining and Petrochemical (SATORP) joint venture, in which we hold a 37.5% interest.

SATORP has built one of the biggest refining and petrochemical complexes in the world in Jubail. It has a capacity of 440,000 barrels of oil per day.

The refinery is integrated with petrochemical units, which produce paraxylene, propylene and benzene.

We market petcoke, which is produced in the Jubail refinery, to cement manufacturers and power companies, primarily in India.

As part of our joint venture with Saudi Aramco (50/50), we have a network of around 270 service stations in Saudi Arabia, where we retail our fuel and offer related services.

We also market:

• Lubricants that are produced in our Jeddah blending plant through our 51%-owned Saudi Total Petroleum Products joint venture.
• Additives and special fluids through Saudi Total Petroleum Products.
• Jet fuel through our 25%-owned joint venture with Petrostar Aviation Limited.
