Rugby World Cup France 2023: TotalEnergies is Committed to Sustainable Mobility

Alongside the Rugby World Cup France 2023, for which TotalEnergies is an official sponsor, the Company is offering a range of sustainable mobility solutions for rugby fans, the Organizing Committee as well as the teams taking part in the competition. Find out how to enjoy all the festivities of the competition while promoting low-carbon mobility!

The Rugby World Cup 2023 will be held in France from September 8 to October 28, 2023. From Paris to Marseille, Lyon to Bordeaux, and Nice to Lille, the competition is in full swing in the stadiums of the nine host cities.

To mark the occasion, TotalEnergies is providing all those wishing to visit the venues with solutions to encourage a more sustainable form of mobility:

• Free electric charging on match days for the public in certain TotalEnergies service stations around the stadiums. Customers with electric vehicles who come to the charging zone will be offered a free electric charge at the TotalEnergies station(s) nearest to the stadium hosting the match. The first charge can take place from 8 am and the last charge up to 8:50 pm (which may not exceed 9 pm). The operation will run until the end of the competition in 9 towns and 15 service stations: Paris, Lyon, Marseille, Bordeaux, Lille, Toulouse, Nice, Nantes and Saint-Etienne.
• A dedicated car-sharing platform for the competition to allow rugby fans to get to and from the stadium. TotalEnergies is supporting a French startup in setting up the platform with the aim of making it easier for spectators to travel to matches and share a journey with other fans, while helping reduce the environmental impact of the Rugby World Cup France 2023 matches.

As part of the sustainable strategy that it shares with the France 2023 Organizing Committee, TotalEnergies is also offering an end-to-end electric charging solution for the plug-in hybrid vehicles in the France 2023 fleet throughout the competition at the Stade de France and the Stade Vélodrome in Marseille. The system includes two electric charge stations installed near the Stade de France for a fleet of 47 vehicles and a station at the Marseille stadium for a fleet of 27 vehicles. These stations are powered by 100% renewable electricity.

By encouraging people to car-share and travel in electric vehicles, the Company is rallying rugby fans to a common idea, namely turn the World Cup into special occasion for celebrating the energies that bring us together!

In addition, TotalEnergies supplies alternative aviation fuel to certain team flights during the competition. The Company supplied Jet A-1 SAF (Sustainable Aviation Fuel)^[1] from Bordeaux to fuel the Welsh rugby team's flight on September 11 with Sky Alps and the Chilean team's flight on September 17 with Avantiair. It will again supply Avantair from Bordeaux (one flight) and Saint-Nazaire (one flight) for certain teams participating in the competition. The Company has dedicated Jet-A1 SAF logistics resources at both airports.

^[1] TotalEnergies alternative aviation fuel is a blend of conventional aviation fuel (Jet-A1) and sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) made from waste and residue sourced from the circular economy (used cooking oil, etc.).
