In 2020, Stellantis and TotalEnergies – through its affiliate Saft – created Automotive Cells Company (ACC), a joint venture destined to become a major player in the design and production of batteries for electric vehicles in Europe. ACC: A TotalEnergies, Stellantis and Mercedes-Benz Joint Venture
ACC designs and builds cells and modules that store energy. These active components are then assembled into battery packs by carmakers to power your vehicle.
Caption of the scheme:
- Cell: A single unit that converts chemical energy into electrical energy.
- Module: A collection of cells arranged in series or in parallel.
- Pack: A series of individual modules with protection systems combined in a specific shape for installation in a vehicle.
