Feature

One of the missions of the Research & Innovation teams is to conceive the facilities of the future, ensuring that they are simpler, lighter and less costly. That’s why, in 2013, the Company launched the Autonomous Robot for Gas and Oil Sites (ARGOS) Challenge, in partnership with the French National Research Agency (ANR). The aim was to foster the emergence of innovative, previously unimagined solutions in the oil and gas industry, in particular autonomous surveillance and inspection robots certified to the ATEX explosive atmospheres standard.

With the Offshore Ground Robotics Industrial Pilot (OGRIP), tomorrow’s autonomous robots are now a reality. In a world first, two OGRIP robots have been operating at our gas treatment facility on the Shetland Islands, Scotland, since November 2020.
