Facilities: Refining and Petrochemicals Platform
TotalEnergies has long considered Qatar as a key country due to its natural gas resources and its proximity to growing markets in Asia. We are present all along the production chain, from gas to polymers and play a major role in the country’s petrochemical sector through our interests in two joint ventures (Qapco and Qatofin). We also have an interest in two condensate refineries (Ras Laffan 1 and Ras Laffan 2), which process the light oils associated with natural gas production.
Qatar, a country of opportunities
Present in Qatar since 1974, we have interests in several major assets, including the Ras Laffan condensate refinery; the Qapco joint venture, which notably operates an ethane steam cracker and several low-density polyethylene units; and the Qatofin joint venture, which owns an ethane steam cracker, a 128-km pipeline from Ras Laffan to Mesaieed, and a linear low-density polyethylene unit.
